Re-elected Eastern Regional Executives of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) have been sworn in on Wednesday, June 29 at the Koforidua High Court.

The elected executives, Maxwell Kudekor (Regional Chairman) and McAnthony Dagyenga (Regional Secretary) were sworn into office as required by the GJA constitution.

The swearing-in was administered by the Supervising High Court Judge of Eastern Region, Her Ladyship Mrs. Gifty Dekyem in her chambers at the Koforidua High Court complex.

The executives, who went into the elections unopposed, took the Oath of Office and the Oath of Secrecy.

They will serve a term of three years from June 2022 until the next national elections of the Association in 2025.

Addressing the media present, the Chairman, Maxwell Kudekor, indicated that before 2025, the ER GJA seeks to start and complete its proposed Press Center in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua.

He also said the leadership of the Regional GJA would work at winning more workshops, scholarships and other capacity training programmes that would enhance journalists’ expertise in the journalism profession.

Maxwell Kudekor called on all journalists in the region to get on board and support the leadership.

He also called on stakeholders to partner with the GJA to achieve a win-win relationship in the coming years.
