Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has questioned John Mahama’s ability to deliver on promises made to the youth in the run-up to the December elections.
According to him, the former president’s record speaks volumes about him, his government and the how he will handle the affairs of the country.
Dr. Bawumia said at an NPP Youth conference held to mark the International Youth Day that John Mahama during his tenure did not create jobs nor did he implement policies that could benefit the youth.
The NDC flagbearer has said we will maintain the Free Senior High School policy but improve on the quality of teaching and learning.
He has also promised to create over a million jobs and pay monthly salaries to assembly members.
However, addressing the youth, Dr Bawumia said, “promises are one thing but deeds and actions are another. Actions speak louder than words and John Mahama’s record of incompetence has already spoken loudly.”
The Vice President highlighted some of the things the governning NPP has done to help the youth including the creation of NABCO, One District one Factor, Zongo Development Fund and others.
He added that John Mahama’s government also failed to stop the collapse of the numerous financial institutions when he was in power.
Bawumia said that unlike the NDC, The NPP will introduce transformative policies for the youth and the country.
“We are building a new government and we have to continue on that path we cannot go back,” he added.
