Rotary Club (Ghana) has embarked on its annual ‘Walk for a Child’ project.

The walk, which has been one of the main fundraisers of the Club, is aimed at raising funds to impact and support children in deprived communities.

This year’s event was held at the Yiri Lodge on the University of Ghana, Legon campus.

As part of efforts to mitigate the impact of Covid-19, groups that participated in the walk, walked in smaller groups of three to four persons, in line with social distancing protocols.

The walk was accompanied by yoga exercises, massages and also sales of drinks and palm wine to help raise funds.

Over the years, the Rotary club has been able to embark on various projects from funds generated from the walk.

Key projects include the construction of a school block for the deprived children in Tetegu and also the supply of equipment for the childhood cancers at Korle-Bu.

Donations for the walk were received from various groups, individuals as well as organisations including Phoenix, staff of FBN bank, Michael Vanderpuye, Glico Life, Lordship Insurance Brokers, Kros Energy, Ghana Rensunace company, Hollard Insurance, SIC Life, Henry Bukari, among others.
