Chef Faila's meals give me a heavenly feeling - Well-wisher

Arguably, the Modern City Hotel in Tamale might be the happiest place to be in Ghana, as Chef Faila Abdul Razak is not only attempting to break Guinness World Records’ longest cooking marathon but also feeding many.

Her culinary skills have compelled many to leave their homes and pitch camp at the hotel where they are treated to a delicacy of meals.

These supporters could not help but share their excitement with JoyNews and laud the chef for her exceptional cooking ability.

A man pitching camp at the hotel said Chef Faila’s meals could be likened to meals prepared in heaven.

“What she is preparing, the food is very delicious. When I wake up and I taste the tea, ebi[sic] like I dey heaven inside. only the tea. Heavens tea is very sweet,” he said.

Also, a follower who has been present since the start of the cook-a-thon on January 1, said that in a day, he tastes six different meals.

“In the morning, I take tea and meat pie and porridge with jollof rice, in the afternoon I take jollof rice, waakye, and cowpea and in the evening I take TZ, waakye and jollof again.

“Here is for free food and we are here to show her love. I have even brought my bowl because I don’t want to use her bowl and she is going to wash it again. It will waste her time, so I just brought my bowl so she put it inside, I will eat and wash my things,” he said

On January 1, 2024, Chef Failatu Abdul Razak started an attempt to break the current Guinness World Record’s longest cooking marathon record.

From the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, she intends to cook for over 240 hours to beat the 119-hour record set by Alan Fisher.

In the meantime, Ugandan chef Dorcus Mirembe, popularly known as Mama D, who cooked for 144 hours, is awaiting Guinness World Records’ validation.
