Asante-Akim Central legislator, Kwame Ayimadu-Antwi has refuted claims of reporting the Chief Executive of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) to the Special Prosecutor.
According to him, the accusations might stem from his intention to contest again for the Asante-Akim Central seat.
Speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile, Mr. Ayimadu-Antwi expressed confidence in his candidacy, suggesting that being perceived as the strongest among his contenders could be the reason for the allegations.
“If I’m contesting again, it gives me the confidence that because among the three of us contesting for the pending parliamentary primaries at the Asante-Akim Central, I’m probably the strongest so maybe an accusing finger might be pointing at me,” he stated on Saturday, January 13, 2024.

Mr. Ayimadu emphasised that the accusation made against him by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Secretary for Asante-Akim Central, Felix Amakye, regarding reporting the NEIP CEO, Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, to the Special Prosecutor is mere speculation.
“I’m not the complainant, and whatever the Secretary is saying is mere speculation, so I’m not the one. I have not reported Kofi Ofosu Nkansah to OSP,” he clarified.
The Asante-Akim Central MP remarks follow the recent arrest of Mr Nkansah by the Office Special Prosecutor on charges of distributing money to delegates ahead of the NPP Parliamentary primaries.
Felix Amakye told Accra-based Citi FM that Mr Ayimadu-Antwi brought the alleged money-sharing incident to the attention of the Special Prosecutor.
But speaking of the show, Mr Ayimadu-Antwi argued that the NPP Secretary was uncertain about the accusation he was making, stating that he was relying on information from an informant.
Mr. Ayimadu contended that the allegations against him are unfounded.
However, he did not admit to distributing money to his constituents, stating, “For 15 years that I have been a Member of Parliament, every Christmas, it’s a ritual that I do, so I don’t know what the Secretary is complaining of.”
